The Miami Dolphins have been put in a bit of a tough situation at the quarterback position with Ryan Tannehill dealing with a shoulder injury has forced him to miss action.

It now appears that it will keep him off the field on through Week 8's matchup with the Houston Texans next Thursday night, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

There has been murkiness with the entire matter that has no clarity as far as how severe the injury is that Tannehill is dealing with over the last couple of weeks. The only thing that is clear at this point is that it will keep him out of action for at least the next few games. Tannehill had appeared to suffer the injury during the 27-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals after he was stripped sack in the game.

Head coach Adam Gase has come out to state that the Dolphins are not dealing with a similar situation as to what Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Andrew Luck went through over the last couple of years that required him to get major shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. Instead, the team looks to be taking it week by week first before getting to that point with the situation.

In the meantime, the Dolphins will turn to backup quarterback Brock Osweiler for the next couple of weeks. He had performed quite well against the Chicago Bears last Sunday completing 28-of-44 passes for 380 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the comeback 31-28 overtime win. Osweiler look did commit a couple of turnovers, but he does provide the team will some sort of stability at the position. He has the chance in front of him to once again lead the Dolphins to yet another win in Week 7 at home against the Detroit Lions.
