When ‘Black Monday' arrived this year, there were a number of head coach firings. Most of them were expected. However, one shook the NFL world as the Miami Dolphins surprisingly fired former head coach Brian Flores. Flores led the Dolphins to eight victories over the team's final nine games, just missing out on the playoffs by a game for the 2nd straight season.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross mentioned that the team dynamics were not functioning at the level he would like to see. That has left Miami searching for a new voice to lead the team.

Senior NFL reporter Albert Breer shared that Miami has eyes on the San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel.

The Dolphins will reportedly interview McDaniel Wednesday afternoon. However, due to the fact that the 49ers are on a short week, the interview will take place via videoconference.

The 49ers travel to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers Saturday evening. It's a rematch of the 2019 NFC Championship game, a game won by San Francisco 37-20.

The 49ers are coming off a thrilling yet controversial victory over the Dallas Cowboys. With the final seconds dwindling down, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott attempted to get to the line to spike the ball. The referee appeared late to set the ball and time ran out. It left fans furious, throwing bottles at the referees.

McDaniel is one of the newer names to be thrown out there to fill one of the eight NFL head coaching vacancies. Miami is considered one of the better jobs of the eight. They have a talented, young defense that can take over a game. McDaniel would be an interesting hire were he to land the job.
