Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is trying not to dwell on recent rumors linking Houston Texans star Deshaun Watson to Miami.

Tagovailoa said Monday on “The Dan Patrick Show” he is not positive what the future holds, but plans to continue strengthening his hip and preparing for next season:

“Honestly, I’m not too sure,” Tua Tagovailoa said about his status, via Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk. “Like I said, I can’t control things that I can’t control. What I can do is continue to work hard.”

The Dolphins are one of the more intriguing suitors for Watson in part because of Tagovailoa, in addition to having the No.3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Might Miami flip both in an effort to obtain Watson from Houston?

Tua Tagovailoa had a very mixed rookie campaign. The former Alabama star went 6-3 as Miami's starter, completing just over 64 percent of his passes for 1,814 yards and 11 touchdowns. But Tagovailoa averaged just 6.3 yards gained per pass attempt, struggling to galvanize the Dolphins' downfield passing game.

That said, Tua would likely be an appealing piece to the Texans given arm talent and improved health. Houston could then possibly use the No. 3 pick to improve the offensive line or select a defensive star.

For his part, Watson appears intent on getting out of Houston. He removed all association with the Texans on his social media accounts, and it is believed he will not limit his trade market, either. However, the Dolphins have been rumored as one of his preferred landing spots.

The chatter only figures to continue, but Tua Tagovailoa appears intent on focusing what is within his control.
