The Miami Dolphins are reportedly looking to strike a deal in order to get better positioning in the 2020 NFL Draft. It appears the Detroit Lions are among the teams they have been in contact with.

Rumors have begun to swirl about Miami's interest in moving up with the Washington Redskins for the No. 2 pick in the draft. According to Benjamin Albright of The MMQB, they may be more focused on Detroit's third overall pick:

Regardless of which team it is, all reports have indicated that the Dolphins may be feeling a bit uneasy about the No. 5 spot. It is no secret that Miami is hoping to secure a potential franchise quarterback this offseason.

Their desire to trade up indicates that they already have a prospect in mind and they want to ensure that he will still be available when the time comes.

It has been deemed a foregone conclusion that the Cincinnati Bengals plan on taking LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the No. 1 pick in the draft.

Meanwhile, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been pegged as the next best option. Since the teams currently ahead of Miami are not necessarily in the market for a signal-caller, they could be open to trading back with a number of quarterback-hungry teams looking to move back.

Fortunately, the Dolphins have more than enough resources to put together the best package available. Not only do they own the fifth overall pick, but they also acquired the No. 18 pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers thanks to the trade for cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick.
