With 16 players currently on the roster, the Houston Rockets continue to negotiate with versatile big man Donatas Motiejunas.

The 7-foot center/forward initially had a $3.28 million qualifying offer at the end of the season, which eventually extended to a $4.4 million offer from the Rockets that expired Sunday.

According to Motiejunas' agent, B.J. Armstrong, his client is still willing to negotiate with the Rockets, along with three other teams.

“We understand where they are at and what they'd like to do,” said Armstrong. “I think they understand what we would like to do. At this time neither side is willing to accept what each is discussing. We will continue to negotiate with the Rockets and other teams. We're going to continue to work this out and move forward.”

While Donatas Motiejunas is holding out for more money, he doesn't have much leverage. The only teams with the roster space and salary cap to sign him for his potential asking price are the Nets, Nuggets and 76ers — all non-playoff contenders.
