2019 5-star small forward Joey Baker has committed to Duke, he announces on Twitter. The North Carolina native chose the Blue Devils over Kansas, Louisville, and UCLA, among others. He is Duke's first 2019 commitment to this point.

247Sports ranks Baker as the No. 20 prospect in the class of 2019 and the highest rated player in the state of North Carolina.

Baker landed the Duke offer while on an unofficial visit a month ago. He was also present during Duke's annual “Countdown to Craziness” last weekend alongside several other five-star prospects, according to Scout.com.

Joey Baker has already established himself as one of the most dominant wings in all of high school. During Under Armour Association's first session in New York City, the 6'7″ slasher posted 16 points despite missing a considerable portion of the first quarter with a leg injury. Baker led his team to a 20-point victory with his excellent showing. He averaged 13.6 points per game while on the UAA, finishing among the top 20 highest scorers in the country.

While playing for Trinity Christian High School last season, Baker posted 17.2 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game, as per MaxPreps.

Duke — widely known as a recruiting powerhouse — is certainly not done with its work on the recruiting trail for the 2019 class. Plenty of the nation's top juniors are considering the Blue Devils as well, including Vernon Carey Jr., the No. 1 junior in the country. Scottie Lewis, Brian Antoine, Armando Bacot, and Wendell Moore, all of whom are 5-star prospects, seemingly have serious interest in Duke as well.
