Duke star Zion Williamson has been diagnosed with a mild knee sprain, but the extent of his injury is yet to be determined.

Williamson suffered the injury during Duke's highly anticipated rivalry match-up with North Carolina. Less than one minute into the game, the 18-year-old phenom slipped and fell awkwardly when his shoe fell apart.

Projected to be the top overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, Williamson planted near the free throw line and immediately grabbed his knee, obviously in pain. He was able to walk off the court under his own power, albeit limping slightly.

He did not return to the game, and after Duke lost to UNC 88-72, Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski provided an update about Williamson. Coach K confirmed that the youngster has a mild knee sprain and will be re-evaluated tomorrow to determine the timetable of his recovery.

Duke — and the NBA teams tanking for Zion — will be hoping that the injury isn't serious and that Williamson will be able to recover quickly.

Entering Wednesday's showdown with the Tar Heels, Williamson is averaging 22.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He is also shooting particularly well, posting a 68.3 field goal percentage.

Williamson is a freak of nature, a Superhuman per se, but injuries can be scary even for physically gifted athletes like him.
