Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Monday morning that Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson's status is “up in the air” for their upcoming Week 13 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Johnson missed the Eagles' Week 12 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills due to a groin injury.

The 33-year-old, who practiced the entire week, suddenly appeared as questionable on Philadelphia's injury report Sunday morning after he complained about having groin soreness.

Team trainers and staff tried to work out Johnson prior to the game. He received treatment and had an MRI before the team him ruled out of Philadelphia's clash against Buffalo.

Sunday marked the first time Johnson missed a game all season and the Eagles certainly hope a second one is on the way. He missed a couple of games last year and four in 2021, so it was just right for them to exercise caution on the veteran.

Lane Johnson is regarded as one of the top right tackles in football and has been essential to Philly's success this season.

Nonetheless, it seems like Philadelphia, now with a 10-1 record, made the right call in having Johnson sit this one out. Despite his absence, the Eagles, still managed to eke a close one out over the 6-6 Bills.

Trailing by 10 entering the fourth quarter, Philadelphia orchestrated a comeback and sent the game into overtime thanks to some clutch heroics from quarterback Jalen Hurts in the final period and overtime.

Hurts fired this rocket to the end zone to Olamide Zaccheaus for a go-ahead score in the fourth and made the game-winning touchdown in overtime.
