Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has yet to give a conclusive answer regarding his team's starting quarterback for their matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14, according to The Athletic‘s Bo Wulf.

Pederson complimented Jalen Hurts' play in their most recent tilt against the Green Bay Packers, but he also talked about being committed to making Carson Wentz better. Ultimately, Pederson is going to do what he thinks is best for the team.

After a string of awful games, Pederson finally came to his senses and decided to bench Wentz when he couldn't find any rhythm on the field for the Eagles this past Sunday. Wentz finished with tallies of 79 passing yards on a 6-of-15 passing clip to go with four sacks before heading to the sidelines.

Hurts provided a bit of a spark by generating 109 yards on 5-of-12 passing along with a touchdown. The Eagles attempted to mount a late-game comeback in the final frame, but they ultimately succumbed to a 30-16 defeat. The loss dragged the Philly-based squad to a 3-8-1 standing, while the Packers tightened their grip in the pole position of the NFC North with a 9-3 tally.

Hurts' productive play on the field gave Eagles decision-makers something to consider for their coming games, especially with Wentz continuing to struggle under center. Pederson has to be legitimately thinking about making a permanent change at this point, and switching to Hurts now could dictate how the rest of the season goes and the trajectory of their rebuilding cause moving forward.
