The Philadelphia Eagles picked up their eighth win of the season in Week 16 — but it wasn't all good news for the Birds. Also in the win over the New York Giants, running back Miles Sanders suffered a broken hand. As expected from a break, Sanders is out for the Eagles vs Washington Football Team matchup in Week 17.

Fortunately, there is one bit of good news for Philadelphia's dominating run game. Along with Sanders, Jordan Howard came out of Week 17 banged up and bruised. The running back suffered a stinger injury, which is an impact injury on the neck. Earlier in the week, it looked like he too might be out for Sunday's matchup, since he didn't practice on Wednesday. However, Howard was listed as a limited participant in the Eagles' practice on Thursday, which is definitely a step in the right direction.

If Howard is upgraded from his questionable status for Sunday, it would be a huge boost for the Eagles offense, which is heavily reliant on its run game. Sanders is their main man in the ground game, but in his absence, Howard is next in line to step up. In just six games, he has recorded 380 rushing yards and three touchdowns for Philadelphia.

Assuming Howard continues to avoid setbacks and makes solid progress, he should be ready to go for Sunday. The sixth year running back will most likely take over the majority of rushing attempts for Philadelphia.
