Carson Wentz had a roller coaster of a season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. Now, his relationship with the Eagles appears to be in disarray.

Rumors that he wanted out of Philly surfaced as a result of a turbulent campaign with the Eagles this past season. However, Rob Maaddi of The Associated Press said on The Conner and Mark Show that the one-time Pro-Bowler has yet to formally request a trade from Philadelphia; that is at least, according to what he has heard so far.

Nevertheless, Maaddi clarified that this doesn't indicate that Wentz won't, at some point in the future, eventually make that formal request. The 28-year-old has reportedly developed trust issues with the franchise that took him no. 2 overall in the 2016 draft.

Philadelphia also recently fired head coach Doug Pederson, nearly four years after he led the Eagles to the Super Bowl championship. Maaddi also stated that Pederson's departure doesn't guarantee that Wentz will stay put.

In the aftermath of Pederson's firing, reports have surfaced about how Wentz has become uncoachable. The Eagles are reportedly hoping that whoever replaces Pederson on the sidelines can “fix” the North Carolina native.

Apart from that, the Eagles also have a tricky situation with their quarterback. The team drafted Jalen Hurts in the second round of last year's draft, eventually showing some promise when he started three games in his debut campaign. Philadelphia will certainly have a tough decision to make in terms of the direction they want to head to.

Wentz is undoubtedly still their guy if they want to return to the glory they experienced four years ago. If they want to press the reset button, they might as well just roll the dice with the 22-year old Hurts.
