Eagles vs. Giants: Battle on the Lines

The Giants have invested a ton of resources in their defensive and offensive line the past few seasons trying to rebuild their team.

It has worked on the defensive line.

The Eagles have faced a lot of really good, really young DLines so far this season and the Giants certainly qualify as that. Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux have combined for 61 quarterback pressures so far this season, making them one of the most productive EDGE groups in the league. Dexter Lawrence has not played at his normal level since the start of last season but he is still a good player that will be a tough matchup for the interior of the Eagles offensive line.

The Giants offensive line remains an issue — but it is improving.

LT Andrew Thomas has been awesome this season and has yet to allow a single pressure so far in five games. He is definitely a positive for the Giants as they rebuild. The rest of the line is still struggling, just not at the level it used to when it was one of the worst units in the league. Center John Michael Schmitz is average. Their guards are below average but not horrendous. RT Jermaine Eluemenuor is not good, but he hasn’t been especially bad either.

The Eagles defensive line should be able to get pressure on Dart, especially up the middle. This is would be a great time for Jalen Carter to have his first huge game of the 2025 season. The matchup is certainly there to make it happen.

The question will be how does the Eagles offensive line handle the Giants defensive. The offensive line just turned in its best performance of the season vs. Denver, but on a short week on bad turf, the Giants pass rushers could be a problem.

If the Eagles lose the game it will likely be because the Giants DLine dominates
