Joel Embiid has been a revelation for the Philadelphia 76ers so far this season and has played above everyone's expectations. He's able to achieve his averages of 17.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.4 blocks in only 22.6 minutes per game, as he is under a 24-minute restriction after coming back from a pair of knee surgeries.

On Wednesday night, his team squared-off against the Memphis Grizzlies in a highly-competitive matchup that had to be decided in double overtime. Embiid already played 27 minutes before reaching the second five-minute extension and was forced to watch from the sidelines as advised by team doctors.

The 22-year-old Cameroonian international was not able to hide his emotions as he still wanted to compete with his teammates and kicked a chair out of frustration.

The Sixers missed his presence on the floor and lost the game, 104-99.

He may be upset as he was not allowed to see action anymore but during his post-game interview, Embiid said he understands that the team only wants what's best for him and his health.

If there's any silver lining for the 76ers coming out of this loss, it's finding out how competitive their young center is and how much he wants to help the team win. Once he gets off his minutes cap, it could spell trouble for their opponents as Embiid will have the chance to produce even better numbers.
