Dallas Cowboys Ezekiel Elliott showed some signs of life on Sunday, as he helped his team to a 31-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The 25-year-old running back hasn't exactly been killing it for the Cowboys this season, but Sunday's performance could prove to be a turning point for him — a notion that team executive vice president Stephen Jones seems to agree with.

According to Jones, he believes that things are only going to get better for Elliott from here on out:

“I think he does,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News (h/t Josh Alper of NBC Sports). “I think it’s just a matter of him getting in the right situations at the right time.”

Jones also acknowledged Zeke's struggles thus far, but made it abundantly clear that he has not lost faith in Dallas' 2016 fourth overall pick:

“Obviously, we went through a tough stretch there where we were figuring out our quarterback situation, figuring out our offensive line situation, and I think that made it more difficult. But I do think Zeke still has it, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s going to reel off some big ones, as well. He’s been real close a couple of times, and I do think it’s just a matter of time before he puts up some big runs.”

The 3-7 Cowboys will be back in action on Thursday, as they look to make it back-to-back wins against Washington Football team. It will be interesting to see if Elliott is able to build on what was his best performance of the season against the Vikings.
