Aside from the Dallas Cowboys, another NFC team in the Atlanta Falcons is now being linked to former Baltimore Ravens free safety Earl Thomas. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn already had ties with the seven-time Pro Bowler, dating back to their days together with the Seattle Seahawks. Quinn served as the team's defensive coordinator back then where he won a Super Bowl XLVIII chip along with Thomas.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk featured in NBC Sports:

Quinn said, via multiple reporters, that he loves Thomas as a player but that the team is not looking for an addition to the position group.

The Falcons currently have Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen as their starting safeties along with fourth-year player Damontae Kazee, journeyman J.J. Wilcox, and rookie Jaylinn Hawkins on board.

On the other hand, the Seattle Seahawks served as the first home of Earl Thomas in the league. The team drafted him with the 14th pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He went on to make a name for himself with the team and earned two second-team All-Pro and three first-team All-Pro selections.

He went on to play nine seasons with the team but his tenure in Seattle ended in the 2018 season. During a Week 4 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, Thomas was carted off the field in the fourth quarter with a lower leg injury. A frustrated Thomas made an obscene gesture towards Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. It was later revealed that the safety had suffered a broken leg which abruptly ended his 2018 season.

His one-year pitstop with the Baltimore Ravens also didn't end in good terms. Thomas earned a Pro Bowl appearance as a Raven last season which attests to his ability to be a contributor to a team. Minus the reckless actions, the veteran safety can still be a serviceable asset to any team that will take a chance on him.
