Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper was unable to take part in the team's early offseason workouts. Fortunately, it seems he will be back in the mix for Training Camp.

Hooper has spent the offseason nursing an ankle injury. According to ESPN's Vaugh McClure, he is set to finally make his return:

We will see what happens tomorrow with guys such as Keanu Neal (ACL) and Ricaro Allen (Achilles) coming off their injuries, but Austin Hooper is good to go for training camp off the ankle injury that sidelined him during minicamp.

The Falcons will undoubtedly be happy to have Hooper back in the fold. The former third-round pick has established himself as one of the most promising, young tight ends in the NFL thus far. As a result, the coaching staff has not been shy about expressing their high expectations for him moving forward and it seems they plan on taking full advantage of the offseason to make sure he is on track.

Hooper is coming off a bit of a breakout year after finishing the 2018 campaign with 71 receptions for 660 yards and four touchdowns en route to being named as a Pro Bowl alternate. Given the solid progression he has made with each season, he is well on his way to becoming a perennial Pro Bowl player.

Despite coming off a disappointing season, the Falcons still have high hopes for a potential resurgence in 2019.

It will be interesting to see if Hooper's workload increases moving forward in this high-powered offense.
