Atlanta Falcons middle linebacker Deion Jones has found himself on the PUP list before the start of training camp.

Deion Jones, who will be on the Physically Unable to Perform List, will be able to return at any point before the start of the season. Jones underwent shoulder surgery during the off-season. It was originally believed that he would be back in time for training camp.

Jones' future with the Falcons has been up in the air for some time now. Him missing both OTAs and minicamp could lead to an eventual breakup.

Jones has been a focal point of the Falcon's defense in recent years. Since being drafted in the second round of the 2016 draft, Jones has played a major role on this team.

He has also managed to stay fairly healthy during his six-year career. Outside of the 2018 season where he played in just six games, he has missed just two total games.

When playing, Deion Jones has been a force. In 85 career games, he has recorded 652 total tackles, 40 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. He has also generated 15 total turnovers with 11 interceptions and four forced fumbles. More impressively, he has also scored five touchdowns in his career.

In all but one of his professional seasons, Jones has recorded more than 100 total tackles. He finished second on the Falcons last season with 137, the second most of his career.

Deion Jones, a one-time Pro Bowler, will look to lead a fairly young linebacker group for the Falcons this season. As a core member of the defense, his being on the field will be crucial to their success.
