Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is coming off of a monster 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 111 receptions for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns, good for one of the best seasons for a wide out in Packers history.

Adams was one of the lone bright spots in what was a disastrous year overall in Green Bay, and going into 2019, he remains one of the top threats in Fantasy Football.

But just how high does Adams rank, and could he be the top receiver to target in Fantasy Football drafts this year?

While you can't definitively say “yes,” as there are just too many other variables at stake, Adams should certainly be one of the most productive wide receivers in 2019 and should be at or near the top of your draft board if you are looking at taking a wide out first.

Think about it: Adams is, by far, the best wide receiver on a team that has Aaron Rodgers as its quarterback and a pretty good offensive line. That should mean that Adams, who racked up 169 targets in 2018 (second in the league behind Julio Jones' 170), should once again post big numbers this coming season.

The Packers don't even really have a standout No. 2 receiver right now, with Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling competing for the job and Equanimeous St. Brown and Jake Kumerow in the background.

Randall Cobb is no longer on the Packers, as he signed with the Dallas Cowboys in free agency.

That means that Adams should equal or exceed the amount of targets he totaled this past year, which could very well put him in the league lead for targets. As a result, Adams will almost surely catch 100 passes again so long as he remains healthy.

Is Adams a better receiver than Jones or guys like DeAndre Hopkins, Antonio Brown, and Odell Beckham Jr.? Probably not, but fantasy is not about who is better; it is about opportunity and production, and a guy like Adams will almost certainly receive more targets than someone like Beckham, who is also competing with Jarvis Landry for touches on the Cleveland Browns.

Again, it also helps that Adams is playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Rodgers, and going into 2019, Rodgers will likely be playing with a chip on his shoulder following all of the heavy criticism he took in 2018.

That could mean a big year for Rodgers and, in turn, a huge year for Adams, who has developed a pretty great synergy with Rodgers since he entered the NFL back in 2014.

Up until this past year, Adams was just a solid wide out and had never reached 1,000 yards, but thanks to the fact that he saw plenty more opportunities in 2018, he posted an incredible season and has become a fantasy owner's dream.

To conclude, it wouldn't be fair to put Adams at the top of the pack, as there are still plenty of other great wide outs in the league, but you would be hard-pressed to name three receivers who are better options for your No. 1 going into 2019.
