McLaren and its drivers look confident enough to maintain P3 over Ferrari, despite its slim lead in the Formula 1 constructor standings.

Lando Norris proved worthy to be one of the sport's emerging young stars, garnering multiple impressive race finishes this year. The British driver recognizes what it's like to compete with a successful team closely behind McLaren's back in the standings.

“It’s a good mood [at McLaren],” added the Briton. “We’re motivated, we’re working hard.”

“It’s tough, it’s hard to know where you’re going to be every weekend, because it’s always generally been really close [with Ferrari], even since the beginning of the season.

“It’s not like we’ve run away with it at any point, it’s always been close since the beginning of the season.

“But it’s tense.”

Amid the intense battle between two highly capable teams, Norris and McLaren stress that they are confident enough to withstand a powerhouse like Ferrari.

“We’re working hard, everyone back in the factory’s working hard to try and find these last little things we need for the rest of the season.

“But Ferrari are strong; you’ve got to give it to them, they’ve come on very strong this second half of the season, and especially these last few weekends.

“So we’re putting up a fight and we can definitely bring it to them till the end, so that’s the plan.”

As of now, McLaren's goal is to produce great results at the Mexican Grand Prix. Needless to say, the team will require every ounce of their strength because having a Formula 1 team like Ferrari right up your tail is a daunting challenge to end the season.
