Back in 2020, Apple decided to remove the Fortnite iOS version from their store due to a violation made by Epic. iOS players around the globe were suddenly deprived of playing their favorite battle royale game. Well, now we have good news because there is another way to play Fortnite on iOS. Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service is bringing back Fortnite to the iPhone.

Epic Games and Nvidia have been working in a collaborative effort to bring back the Fortnite iOS version. Given the circumstances created by Epic’s lawsuit against Apple, it’s almost impossible to bring Fortnite to the App Store. Now with Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, this is the perfect workaround for iPhone players to hop on back the battle royale island. Plus, there’ll be tons of other games mobile players can gain access to which aren’t in the Play Store and App Store.

The Verge’s Jay Peters briefly described his experience playing Fortnite on iOS via GeForce Now. He mentions that the layout design for Fortnite via GeForce Now feels similar to Fortnite on iOS. In fact, it even feels smoother and more optimized than ever before. All the controls are responsive as if you were playing on a Nintendo Switch or PS5. Also, given that your internet connection speed is fast enough, you can expect no latency during gameplay.

Keep in mind that Nvidia’s GeForce Now is currently in its closed beta phase. You still have to register on their website to request access to the closed beta. Also, it’s no guarantee that registration will immediately honor your access to the closed beta. For now, iPhone players will have to either take their chances or wait for GeForce Now’s official release. On the brighter side of things, at least Fortnite is technically back on iOS.
