MiHoYo recently showed off the things to come in Genshin Impact version 2.0, specifically about Inazuma and a myriad of things that lie behind this enigmatic region. What took the spotlight, however, is the detailed information revealed about three of the newest characters we’re getting from the new patch: Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu.

Kamisato Ayaka: Frostflake Heron

Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayaka

Arriving first is Kamisato Ayaka, a dignified yet benevolent girl who holds great responsibility towards the people of Inazuma. She is the daughter of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan. Put simply, Ayaka’s one of the noblest of the nobles. She puts her high social stature to good use though, helping people in need and assisting them in all kinds of matters. Because of this, Ayaka is greatly adored by the people. This has granted her the title of Shirasagi no Himegimi by those close to her.

However, behind Ayaka’s strong and stoic demeanor lies the cute and tender side of her personality. In the upcoming Archon quest where players will be able to interact with Ayaka for the first time, more of her intimate personality will be put to show as the story progresses.

Ayaka’s gameplay is also just as interesting, bringing a play style that’s fresh and unique. She is a 5-star sword-wielding Cryo user, capable of dealing huge amounts of Cryo damage while also being able to infuse her attacks with Cryo. From the looks of it, Ayaka’s skill set is flexible enough to be used as a carry, sub-carry, or even as a support.

Ayaka finally arrives soon to fulfill the expectations of players who have waited for her since the teasers from the Beta version of the game. The wait is finally over, and players will definitely be pulling for her once Version 2.0 comes live.

Yoimiya – Frolicking Flames

Genshin Impact Yoimiya

Next comes Yoimiya, a cheerful and passionate girl. Regardless, she is regarded as Inazuma’s, nay, Genshin Impact‘s best pyrotechnician. The theme of her character is centered around ‘fireworks’, and she is most adept at such an artform. She is the owner of Naganohara Fireworks and is known as the “Queen of the Summer Festival”, owing to the wondrous displays of her fireworks exhibit.

Fireworks might be short-lived, but they represent the wishes and aspirations of the people of Inazuma, and such is why Yoimiya seeks perfection for every firework she creates. Only an ingenious and creative individual like her is able to create a dazzling display of lights, for it to stay in the hearts of people long after the fireworks fizzle out.

Yoimiya is still a child at heart, and that is why she’s able to interact with children just as easily. She is quite empathetic though chatty, and her enthusiasm makes her a good friend to a lot of people she interacts with.

Yoimiya’s gameplay is also very unique in Genshin Impact, as one of her key abilities makes her rely on her normal bow attacks, as well as charged ones. She infuses her attacks with Pyro, which allows her to deal a barrage of flaming arrows unto her enemies. Her elemental burst also provides her with the flexibility to fill the sub-carry role, as the fiery explosion persists after she leaves the field.

It is revealed that Yoimiya is going to be an important ally for our Traveler in the upcoming story quests, and we can look forward to her shining moments once we finally meet her.

Sayu – Mujina Ninja

Genshin Impact Sayu
miHoYo

The last new playable character arriving in Genshin Impact Version 2.0 is Sayu, an aloof little, yet skilled ninja from the Shiyuumatsu-Ban region of Inazuma. She worries about her small stature after realizing she hasn’t grown at all compared to her peers. Because of this, she uses her expert ninja skills to find places to sleep, hoping one day that she’ll eventually grow taller.

Some might say that Sayu is just slacking off most of the time, but she has a conviction to keep on sleeping undisturbed because she believes she can grow taller by doing so. This is why she has honed her skills so much, just so she can sleep in peace all she wants. Finding her in the wild is quite difficult, but she’ll definitely help you or her townspeople once she’s found.

Sayu’s gameplay is simple yet widely useful, able to augment elemental reactions with Swirls, while able to heal wounded allies and damage foes at the same time. One of her notable abilities turns Sayu into a rolling death ball of cuteness, able to ram enemies without getting interrupted, or can be used to easily get out of a tough situation. Overall, Sayu looks to be a really good support character that can fit into a lot of teams in Genshin Impact.

These three characters are set to arrive in the next version update of Genshin Impact, with Ayaka coming in the first banner, and Yoimiya and Sayu in the following one. We’ll get to know more about them in the upcoming update, along with the whole new region that is Inazuma. Genshin Impact version 2.0 comes out on July 21, 2021.
