The 2017 NFL season has turned into a forgettable one for the New York Giants. The once-dominant force in the NFC has struggled from Week 1 onwards with Eli Manning and company looking like a team destined to miss the playoffs.

With only one win on the season, the talk of benching veteran quarterback Eli Manning has become a hot topic of discussion in New York. Head coach Ben McAdoo continues to be asked about the Giants' quarterback situation and for the time being, is sticking with Manning under center, via Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com.

“It’s a coaching decision, but it’d be something that if it ever would get to that point, I’d want to have a conversation with Jerry and ownership on it,” McAdoo said. “But it’s not to that point and I don’t see that point coming. Eli’s our quarterback. I have 100 percent confidence in Eli. We’re gonna get a week away from it, and we’re gonna come back fresh mind, fresh bodies and play better football.”

The Giants are coming off a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in which the team was only able to reach the end zone once. Manning connected with Even Engram for the team's only touchdown while the Seahawks went on to score 24 points and come away with the victory.

In the loss to Seattle, Manning threw for 134 yards as he completed only 19 of his 39 pass attempts. Obviously, not an ideal outing for the two-time Super Bowl champion as they try to get back on track.

New York currently has Geno Smith and rookie David Webb backing up Manning at the quarterback position. If the team continues to struggle, it may be only a matter of time before Webb or Smith are given the nod.
