Ben McAdoo’s time with the New York Giants didn’t end as well as he’d like after he was fired for a disastrous 2017 campaign. But the former Giants coach doesn’t seem to have too many hard feelings with the organization.

In fact, McAdoo believes that after a busy offseason, the Giants are capable of bouncing back and winning the NFC East this season.

“I think they’ve made a lot of the moves I wanted to make,” McAdoo said to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. “I think they’re gonna win the division.”

McAdoo was also fairly dismissive of the chances of the other three teams in the division-the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Redskins-when he went through each one of them.

After last year’s disappointment under McAdoo, the Giants decided to make some big moves on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. Obviously, the biggest one is drafting running back Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick. They also retooled their offensive line by adding Nate Solder and Will Hernandez.

And of course, star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. will be back after he missed all but four games last season due to a broken ankle. Having that talented supporting cast should help bring out the best in 37-year-old quarterback Eli Manning.

There’s some sense of sour grapes with McAdoo’s comments that the Giants finally did what he wanted to do with the roster. But he completely blew his chance to stay on the job with last year’s debacle. That’s why Pat Shurmur is in charge now and will look to lead this seemingly improved team to their first division crown since 2011.
