With the New York Giants set to face off against Washington Football Team on Sunday, it will be the first time Daniel Jones will return to the FedExField since that memorable outing from last season. Right now, the 23-year-old quarterback is looking to replicate what has since been the best performance of his young career.

For those who are unfamiliar with Jones' heroics from December of last year, here's a quick look (h/t Michael Elsen of Giants.com):

He completed 28 of 42 passes for 352 yards, five touchdowns – including the overtime game-winner – and no interceptions in a 41-34 overtime victory.

Jones had a career-best 132.1 passer rating. He was the first Giants rookie to pass for five touchdowns and the first rookie in NFL history with at least 350 passing yards, five touchdown passes and zero interceptions in a game.

Jones had undoubtedly been reliving that epic performance in his mind time and time again, and at this point, he has an opportunity to live it out when the Giants take on Washington on Sunday. The former Duke standout shared his memory of that unforgettable day:

“Just that we battled down the stretch,” Giants QB Daniel Jones said. “We had a good game offensively. I think Saquon (Barkley) had 180 yards or something like that (189). He had a big game, too. We went back and forth. It came down to that overtime drive and we were able to get it done. Just the fight that we showed. We battled and kept coming back, and I think that was the difference in the game.”

The 1-7 Giants could sure use another epic performance from their star QB, following what has been an awful stretch to start the season.
