New York Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones dazzled in his debut as a starter, leading his club to a 32-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday. Jones led the Giants back from a 28-10 halftime deficit and capped off the comeback with a 7-yard scoring run.

Jones earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance, but he admitted there's still a lot he needs to improve upon, per Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk:

“Yeah, it’s extremely important,” Jones said. “I think, like I said, there is a whole lot that I need to clean up to do better. I’ll focus on that, I’ll lock in on those things this week and hopefully play better on Sunday. I’m looking forward to that.”

The No. 6 overall pick completed 23 of his 36 pass attempts for 336 yards and two scores. He also ran the ball four times for 28 yards and two more scores, bringing his total touchdown tally on the day to four.

However, Jones also lost two fumbles, so it wasn't a totally spotless day for the rookie. The fact that he's acknowledging the mistakes and not just reveling in the spotlight is a good sign for the youngster, and he'll work to continue to get better.

Jones and the Giants will face the lowly Washington Redskins this coming Sunday, so he'll have another chance to put forth a big performance.
