The New York Giants need some aid in the secondary and Joe Judge is going to have a familiar face joining him in the Big Apple. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Giants have agreed to a one-year deal with Logan Ryan.

Before arriving in New York, Judge was with the New England Patriots as a special teams assistant/coordinator from 2012-2019. Therefore, he's aware of how talented of a player Ryan is as the veteran defensive back was with the Patriots from 2013-2016.

After the 2016 season, Ryan signed with the Tennessee Titans and has spent the past three seasons with them. Just a season ago, Ryan had a career year with the Titans, notching 113 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. He also recorded 18 pass breakups and four interceptions.

Despite his outstanding numbers in 2019, Tennessee elected to let him test free agency. Since March, Ryan has been longing to find a team and he's finally found a place to call home for the 2020 season. It was reported on Sunday that Ryan was ‘poised' to sign a deal after hiring a new agent.

The Giants will definitely welcome Ryan with open arms due to their current situation in the secondary. Besides the offseason signing of James Bradberry, New York currently fields an inexperienced secondary that features Montre Hartage, Grant Haley, and Corey Ballentine.

Second-year cornerback, Deandre Baker, was supposed to carve out a large role with the Giants this season. However, Baker was involved in an off-the-field incident that has him facing four counts of robbery.

Ryan has proven to be a versatile defender in any defense he's played in and it's odd that he went this long to be signed. Nevertheless, he'll get a chance with the Giants to prove to the other 31 teams that they made a mistake by not bringing him in this season.
