Golden Tate split the 2018 campaign between the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles, hauling in 74 receptions for 795 yards and four touchdowns in what was his least productive season since 2012.

The wide receiver went on to sign with the New York Giants this offseason, and Tate feels he is in a much better spot now than he was this past year when he bounced around between two different clubs:

“I have a lot of confidence in my ability and what I can bring to a team,” Tate said, according to Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media. “I think I’m in a better situation here, because I have an entire offseason to learn the offense. I’m not hitting the ground running in the middle of the week having to prepare to play Sunday. It’s kind of a different scenario this time around.”

Tate will certainly have some big shoes to fill in New York, as the Giants signed him shortly after trading stud wideout Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

The 30-year-old will join a receiving corps that also includes Sterling Shepherd, so it seems rather difficult to say who the Giants' No. 1 receiver will be heading into 2019.

One thing is for sure: if Tate can produce like he once did, he will prove to be a huge pickup for Big Blue.

Just two seasons ago, the Hendersonville, Tn. native caught 92 passes for 1,003 yards and five scores, and back in 2014, he made the Pro Bowl as a result of snaring 99 balls for 1,331 yards and four touchdowns.
