Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joe Haden has some thoughts and isn't afraid to share them. Not only that, but Haden even incorporated some sage advice for New York Giants running back and franchise cornerstone Saquon Barkley. The veteran CB imparted his wisdom to the world via Twitter.

Haden believes that it is already time for Barkley to get paid. Running backs throughout the current NFL landscape have had quite a bit of trouble cashing in as of late. Aside from Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and Atlanta Falcons running back Todd Gurley, it has become more than difficult to receive the big bucks as a NFL running back. Which Haden has obviously taken note of.

Barkley has played just two NFL seasons. Both of which have come as a member of the struggling Giants. Now paired with franchise quarterback Daniel Jones, though, perhaps things will begin to turn around for Barkley and company in East Rutherford.

The 23-year-old is a former No. 2 overall pick out of Penn State, Barkley is currently gearing up to enter the third year of his four-year rookie contract. Which is standard procedure for first round NFL Draft picks. However, the Giants will have the option to pick up his fifth-year option after this season, which will not really see him get paid until what would be his sixth professional campaign.

This will definitely be an interesting one to watch as the years develop for Barkley and the Giants.
