The New York Giants will be without wide receiver Sterling Shepard following a quad injury sustained in their Monday night loss in Kansas City.

According to Fantasy Pros, Sterling Shepard is expected to “miss some time.”

The Giants has been battling injuries to their skill position players all season. All Pro running back Saquon Barkley hasn't played since Week 5 versus Dallas when he left the game with an ankle injury. It was reported that he might be activated this week, before failing a COVID-19 test Wednesday.

It is unclear if Saquon Barkley will be available this weekend when they host the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kenny Golladay was unable to practice Wednesday as well, nursing a knee injury. Golladay hyperextended his knee in that same week 5 loss to the Cowboys. He has yet to make any notable progress. Golladay was the big off-season acquisition after posting back to back 1,000 yard seasons in 2018 and 2019 for the Detroit Lions.

Shepard had shaped up to be Daniel Jones favorite target this season. Shepard led the team in targets, catches and yards until this injury derailed him. That despite missing three games already this year with unrelated leg injuries.

All of the injuries open the door for rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Toney burst onto the scene with 10 catches for 189 yards receiving in the game Golladay and Barkley went down vs the Cowboys. He has been quiet since, with only 62 yards on 7 catches.

The Giants have their bye week following their upcoming game vs the Raiders. Knowing that fact, it would not be a surprise if we don't see any injured players until week 11 at Tampa Bay.
