New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will miss another game this upcoming weekend against the Dallas Cowboys, which means his season is over thanks to a fourth straight absence, according to the team.

The Giants opted not to put Beckham on injured reserve with the quad injury that cropped up after Week 13, but they might as well have because he didn’t practice or play again after that week’s overtime win over the Bears. Beckham was a late scratch the next week, but each of the three weeks to follow opened with head coach Pat Shurmur expressing optimism about Beckham playing before ruling him out on Friday.

Beckham had a terrific season when he was healthy, catching 77 passes for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns. He also threw two touchdown passes. With the addition of rookie phenom Saquon Barkley, the Giants had several top talents on the offensive end, but they still struggled overall and sit at just 5-10 on the season.

Odell Beckham Jr. is in New York for the long haul after signing a long-term extension this past offseason, so he and Barkley should be a dynamic duo for a long time. But the Giants needs to see better team results.
