Unless you have been living under a rock the past couple of weeks, you know that the New York Giants took Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, and you also know that they have been heavily criticized for it.

Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins seemed like the natural pick, and many even had Missouri's Drew Lock—who was taken by the Denver Broncos in the second round—ranked ahead of Jones.

But, the Giants opted to go with Jones, sparking a firestorm among both fans and media pundits alike.

And get this: one NFL team apparently thought so low of Jones as a quarterback prospect that it actually wanted to work him out as a tight end, according to Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News.

Mehta also points out that last year, some teams wanted Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Lamar Jackson to work out as a wide receiver.

Of course, the club that wanted to work out Jones as a tight end because it didn't feel he was good enough to play quarterback in the NFL could end up being entirely wrong, but still, no one was asking Haskins to work out at a position other than quarterback, nor did any teams do that with Kyler Murray or Lock, so this is somewhat alarming news.

Ironically enough, the fact that a team was interested in Jones as a tight end also highlights part of the reason why the Giants were so enamored with Jones to begin with, as he is a pretty solid athlete under center.
