The New York Giants suffered yet another disappointing loss on Thursday night in a 34-13 blowout against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.

This discouraging performance was once again headlined by quarterback Eli Manning struggling to throw the ball with any consistency or effectiveness. Despite that head coach Pat Shurmur has voiced that the team has no plans of benching the 37-year-old at this point in time, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Manning has struggled tremendously through the first five games played providing less than subpar play under center as he has had issues moving the ball down the field effectively as the team ranks 28th in the league with 19.8 points per game while holding the 17th-best passing attack while posting less than 20 four times this year. Although he ranks four in the league with 1,662 passing yards and seventh with a 68.7 percent completion rate, this hasn't translated into the Giants finding much offensive success.

These issues have only been compounded by star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. voicing his disgruntlement with the flow of the offense along with his involvement in the passing game with a lack of throws down the field. This was made more evident after the team's issues on the field on Thursday as they mustered up just 13 points with just three scoring drives in the contest that included just one in the second half.

There was a mounting level of frustration as the game rolled along as Beckham Jr. becoming vociferous on the sidelined that saw him yell at a mechanical fan on the sideline while leaving to the locker room early prior to halftime. Shurmur was also seen venting his anger with the situation as he was caught by camera stating that Manning needed to throw the ball down the field. Ultimately, the further these issues drag along the louder the noise for a quarterback change will get.
