The Green Bay Packers have been one of the league's best teams this season. They are currently 8-2 and have a one game lead in the NFC North. Matt LaFleur is proving that the grass is greener in the post Mike McCarthy era.

The Packers will be heading into their bye week in Week 11. Aaron Rodgers is playing at a high level under his new head coach. The NFC North will be well represented come the postseason with Green Bay and the Minnesota Vikings. Heading into their bye week, the Packers have some big storylines.

3. Aaron Jones

The Packers came into the season with two quality running backs who were expected to get the ball. After 10 games, Aaron Jones has emerged as a star. He has 584 yards rushing and is averaging 4.4 yards per attempt. Jones is tied for the league lead with 14 total touchdowns.

Aside from the ground game, Jones is the Packers' second leading receiver. He is second on the team in catches, yards, and receiving touchdowns. In his third season, Jones is showing signs of being a franchise running back who could one day compete for an MVP award.

2. Coaching Change

The Packers parted ways with McCarthy after his relationship with Rodgers was much in question. LaFleur agreed to be the new head coach in Green Bay and no one knew what to expect. He was viewed as a Sean McVay type coach in regards to his young age and offensive mind.

So far, it is going better than expected. The Packers are averaging 25 points per game. Rodgers has thrown 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions. LaFleur has proven that he can get his running backs involved at a high rate and run a winning offense. Through 10 games, the coaching decision has been a big success in Green Bay.

Mike Pettine is in his second season with the Packers as their defensive coordinator. The defense in Green Bay is the team's biggest improvement so far. They have allowed under 20 points in four games this season.

The Packers knew heading into free agency that they needed to add players on the edge who could get to the quarterback. They signed Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith. Those two additions are paying off immediately. Both Smith's are getting sacks at a high rate. Preston leads the team with 10 and Za'Darius is right behind him with 8.5.

If the Packers can continue to play defense the way they are, they will be a tough team to beat come the postseason.
