Gregg Popovich will not give the local media something to run with after franchise icon Tim Duncan visited the facility a few times during the past couple of series.

The veteran forward has been helping out the San Antonio Spurs big men, as they face an uphill battle with the absence of Kawhi Leonard due to a left ankle injury.

Pop was his usual dismissive-self, claiming Timmy isn't present with the team merely for basketball reasons.

“Tim can't help us a lick,” Popovich said of Duncan, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News. “He can't play dead anymore. He just comes for the free lunch.”

While we doubt the 19-year veteran is in search of a free place to eat — it's nice to see Popovich and Duncan have maintained their sense of humor, as evidenced by the prank the three-time Finals MVP played on the media after Friday's practice.

The Spurs will need as much help as possible in a very tough Western Conference Finals.

A boost to LaMarcus Aldridge‘s scoring prowess could make all the difference, as the team is in need of a go-to scorer to keep them afloat.
