The Memphis Grizzlies' season is all but over. It would take a legendary run for the team to make a late-season playoff push. They're simply out of time. But that doesn't mean all is doom-and-gloom for Memphis. They can still play entertaining basketball down the stretch, and their players can still have some fun both on and off the court. The latter was proven true on Thursday by an exchange between veteran C.J. Miles and rookie Jaren Jackson Jr. Via their Twitter accounts:

Jackson Jr. turned 19 on September 15, and Miles – who will turn 32 on Monday – is ancient in comparison. So he decided to poke fun at the rookie, who was reminiscing about his high school prom, which likely took place in 2017.

This is Miles's 13th season in the league. The small forward has averaged 10.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in a bench role for the Grizzles. He was acquired from the Toronto Raptors as part of last month's Marc Gasol blockbuster. For his career, Miles has averaged 9.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 41.2%.

Jackson Jr. has been the team's starting power forward in his rookie year. He was selected with the fourth overall pick of the 2018 draft out of Michigan State University. The youngster is averaging 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 50.6%. He is a huge part of the Grizzlies' future plans.

Memphis, at 28-41, is likely out of the playoff hunt. They last made the playoffs in the 2016-17 season, when lost in the first round to the San Antonio Spurs.
