Ja Morant hasn't played a single game for the Memphis Grizzlies, as he sat out the 2019 Summer League in Las Vegas so he could recover from knee surgery.

However, that's not stopping the Grizzlies' new point guard from making an impact in the Memphis community.

On Monday, Ja Morant gave $100 and backpacks to youngsters from the Memphis Area Boys & Girls Club:

The Grizzlies selected Ja Morant with the second overall pick in this year's draft. He's replacing Mike Conley as the new floor general in Memphis.

Conley would be proud of Morant right now. During his time in Memphis, Conley was always giving back to the community. It's good to see Morant already doing these type of things even before making his Grizzlies debut.

Ja Morant put on a show at Murray State last season. The explosive guard averaged 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game while shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from beyond the arc and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Grizzlies are building the franchise around Morant and big man Jaren Jackson Jr.

Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is on record saying Morant’s game is going to translate to the NBA right away. The Grizzlies can’t wait to get their hands on Ja.
