Memphis Grizzlies stud Ja Morant has developed a reputation as one heck of an athletic guard. Most fans have witnessed how Morant has used this ability in offense. But against the Portland Trail Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic, Morant showed it off with an emphatic block.
Note that Morant is a guard who stands just 6-foot-3 while Nurkic is at 6-foot-11. But this height disparity seems nothing but a trivial matter to the Grizzlies stud. In his block below, he showed off perfect timing mixed with pure athleticism.

Trail Blazers fans must've been delighted to see Nurkic back on the floor after missing a few months because of injuries. He's been back in the lineup for more than a month now and already has his legs underneath him.
But he may need to review the tendencies of his foes, especially the young guns like Morant. Yes, they are giving up several inches. But the Grizzlies star showed the possibilities as long as you're extremely athletic and tenacious on both ends of the floor.
Next time the Grizzlies and Blazers face off again, Nurkic should be wary that even a guard can swat his shot emphatically. Maybe add in a pump fake or two, Nurk.
