With four games left in the regular season for the Memphis Grizzlies, the team decided that guard MarShon Brooks has shown them enough to warrant a bigger contract.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Shams Charania, Memphis has rewarded Brooks' play with an upgrade from his 10-day deal.

Sources: Grizzlies guard MarShon Brooks has agreed to a guaranteed two-year deal with Memphis. Brooks has scored 70 points over three games in his first 10-day contract.

The season has long been lost for the Grizzlies, so it is good to see someone from their camp finally winning. A former first-round pick out of Providence, the 6-foot-5 guard was highly-touted ahead of the 2011 NBA Draft as someone having Kobe Bryant-like instinct on the offensive end.

His NBA career hasn't panned out as expected and Brooks found himself testing international waters for three seasons until finally bagging a gig with the Grizzlies. Despite the minuscule sample size of three games, Brooks has proven to be a pleasant surprise.

He holds averages of 23.3 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per ball game thus far. Obviously, those stats will decline, but he may have proven his worth not only to the Grizzlies but also to other teams who could be looking for a cheap offensive weapon.

His deal makes him very tradeable, especially come summer time when the NBA Draft kicks in.
