The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off one of the worst seasons in their franchise’s history. Helping them move on from that forgettable 2017-18 campaign are three freshly imagined uniforms, which have been unveiled on Thursday by the team. Also revealed is the Grizzlies’ new home court design.

Here’s the accompanying video for the uniform revelation, featuring small forward Dillon Brooks and point guard Mike Conley Jr.

Perhaps the most eye-catching change made on the Grizzlies’ new threads is the addition of the FedEx logo on the left chest part of the uniforms. With that, FedEx becomes the team’s first-ever sponsor of the Grizzlies’ jerseys.

Apart from that, the designs are also inspired by distinct qualities of Memphis’ culture, as elaborated by Grizzlies President of Business Operations Jason Wexler, via LocalMemphis.com.

“If you look at Memphis on a map, the river lines one side and the city unfurls from that singular boundary – and in that asymmetry we find inspiration for all those indigenous off-center creative sparks that distinguish the people and City of Memphis,” said Jason Wexler, Grizzlies President of Business Operations. “The asymmetry, the reflection of Memphis as a 4-dimensional city with river, road, rail and runway, the inline of our new wordmark nodding to the neon of Beale Street – all draw from a city that cuts against the grain coalescing into a truly unique NBA identity.

Memphis finished last season with 22-60 record and missed the playoffs for the first time in eight seasons.
