At 280-lbs, Moore has the potential to be an impacting post presence for the Grizzlies if he looks good during camp. Moore set a school record at Wake Forest by shooting 68.9 percent from the field over the course of the 2017-18 season. After playing in all 31 games for the Demon Deacons last season, Moore became one of two players in the entire ACC to average a double-double in conference play, registering 11.7 points per game and 10.9 rebounds.

Moore is from Locust Grove, Georgia and played his high school ball at the highly touted Montverde Academy in Florida. Montverde has a serious NBA pipeline that includes Joel Embiid, D'Angelo Russell, Ben Simmons . and Luc Mbah a Moute. Joining the Grizzlies will give him the opportunity to learn behind Marc Gasol and possibly overtake Dakari Johnson to claim the backup center role.

Last season was not kind to the Grizzlies. After getting off to a 10-3 start, injuries to players like star point guard Mike Conley caused them to finish at an embarrassing 22-60. They were second to last in the Western Conference, making this the first time they've missed the playoffs in the last seven seasons. Getting Conley back will help, but the their conference is continuing to get more talented while they remain the same. Hopefully Moore can provide efficient as a low post scorer and change some shots on the defensive in to help them get over the hump in 2018.
