The Memphis Grizzlies certainly dodged a bullet on Monday, as Ja Morant managed to get out unscathed after a scary fall against the Houston Rockets.

With three minutes left in the fourth quarter, the second overall pick of this year’s draft took off on one foot and tried to serve a facial on Rockets defender Danuel House.

Morant collided with House mid-air and missed the dunk attempt, landing awkwardly on his left leg. He stayed on the floor for a few seconds, but he managed to get up on his own and escaped what could have been a nasty knee injury.

Twitter users were quick to point out that he was lucky enough not to tear his ACL after such a scary landing.

The 20-year-old guard is expected to become Memphis’ franchise player of the future following the departure of Mike Conley in the offseason. He is currently averaging 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 steals in his first five games this year.
