It's been a turbulent offseason for the Atlanta Hawks as management retools the team and determines what talent best fits next to emerging star point guard Trae Young.

To that end, the team is reportedly “scouring” the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a potential two-way contract player, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore.

The Hawks have already signed one of their allotted two available two-way contracts by inking Saint Joseph's product Charlie Brown Jr. to the half-NBA, half–G League deal, which allows Brown Jr. to play with Atlanta for a maximum of 45 days before the contract expires.

Atlanta also spent the summer drafting Duke University swingman Cam Reddish with the 10th overall pick in the first round in June and trading a combination of their picks to select University of Virginia forward and NCAA champion De'Andre Hunter with the fourth pick.

The Hawks also dealt veteran wing Kent Bazemore to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for 30-year-old wing Evan Turner and sent rising sophomore power forward Omari Spellman to the Golden State Warriors for a second-round pick and 24-year-old center Damian Jones.

Atlanta is expected to be a developing team in the Eastern Conference on the right path and fast path towards contention.

Building around Young, big man John Collins, and draft picks Hunter and Reddish—along with the sweet-shooting guard Kevin Huerter—portends to be an exercise in legitimacy, as teams and fans around the league grow confident the Hawks are working with the right stuff.
