The Atlanta Hawks managed to come away with a clutch double-overtime victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, thanks to the efforts of point guard Trae Young. In the process, the All-Star guard reached a new milestone and joined some elite company.

According to Stat Muse, Young now has more games with 30 points and 15 assists through his first two season than Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas.

Elias Sports added that he now sits only behind Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson and Nate “Tiny” Archibald for the most.

Trae Young recorded his fourth 30-point, 15-assist game of his career. That's the third-most 30-15 games by a player in his first two seasons in the league, behind Robertson (17) and Archibald (5).

Although Young may have had the advantage of playing an extra two periods, he still managed to make the most of it by serving as the central force on offense. More importantly, the Hawks were finally able to put an end to their three-game losing streak with the 143-138 win.

It is safe to say that catching Robertson may be out of reach for Young heading into the final stretch of the 2019-20 NBA season. However, he still has more than enough time to either surpass or tie Archibald's mark.

Regardless, it is safe to say that Young is focused on developing his skill set as a budding superstar. He has certainly been no stranger to making history with a number of impressive feats early in his career with the Hawks.

While the Hawks may not be playing for much at this point in the 2019-20 NBA season, they can take solace in the fact that Trae Young continues to develop into bona fide franchise player.
