After teasing on Twitter that he is close to returning, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young has officially been listed as available for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls.

The Hawks confirmed the development on Twitter, though the likes of John Collins, Danilo Gallinari, Kevin Huerter and more are listed as out.

Trae Young entered the health and safety protocols last week, causing him to miss their Christmas Day game against the New York Knicks. Ever since getting sidelined, though, he has expressed his frustration about the whole situation.

Fortunately, he has cleared protocols in time for their showdown with the Bulls. With the Hawks needing a major boost amid their slew of COVID-19 cases, Young's arrival couldn't come at a better time.

As mentioned, though, the update didn't come as a huge surprise after Young hinted on Twitter about his return. After he said that “maybe COVID heard me,” he followed it up with an hourglass emoji–suggesting that it was only a matter of time before the team announces his status. And indeed less than an hour later, the Hawks confirmed his availability.

Young missed a total of three games because of the health and safety protocols, with the Hawks going 1-2 during that span. Now, he is hoping to get the team back to the winning column as they continue their fight to make the playoffs once again.
