With the NBA season coming to an abrupt halt in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, it is now becoming more and more plausible that Atlanta Hawks veteran Vince Carter may have already played the last game of his career.

Carter recently spoke to Annie Finberg on The Ringer, as the 43-year-old opened up about what that last game meant to him before the league went into a hiatus.

That's a pretty touching statement coming from the Hawks star there. It is clear that he will miss playing in the league once he finally calls it a career in the very near future, but perhaps it is even more apparent that the game will miss him more.

It was recently reported that the league is now seriously looking at the possibility of cancelling the season altogether. Carter had already announced earlier that this was going to be his last season, so if the NBA does decide to pull the plug on the current campaign — something that appears to be a very likely possibility — then it does look like we've seen the last of Carter in an NBA uniform.

Carter has had an illustrious 21-year career, playing for no less than eight different NBA teams. He is a former Rookie of the Year, an eight-time All-Star, and a two-time All-NBA team members. The 6-foot-6 forward holds career averages of 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 1.5 triples per ballgame. The former UNC standout is also widely regarded as the best in-game dunker this game has ever seen.
