NBA legend Dwyane Wade says Jimmy Butler's personality and drive to win are perfect for the Miami Heat franchise.

Wade says Butler wanted to play for the Heat because of the winning culture the franchise has exuded over the years.

“I always felt that Jimmy's personality and his crazy is perfect for Pat Riley's and Erik Spoelstra's crazy. So it's great,” Wade said, via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “One thing I told Jimmy when he got there, I told him, ‘Listen, this is Jimmy Butler's era. Don't worry about people saying anything about Dwyane Wade. I am old and retired and gone. You don't have to worry about me anymore. Focus on what you're trying to build in Miami, in your time there. Don't ever feel like you have to be me or anybody else that has come before you. You just got to be Jimmy Butler.'

“And I think he's been great at being Jimmy Butler.”

The 30-year-old Texas native was reportedly blown away by all the pomp and circumstance surrounding Wade’s last home game with the Heat last season. According to reports, he told friends after Wade’s final game in Miami against the Philadelphia 76ers that being able to see what the city and the organization are about left an enormous impact on him.

Jimmy Butler is one of the best two-way players in the game. He's averaging 20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game this season for the Heat while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 26.5 percent from beyond the arc and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Heat are 30-13 on the season, which is good for second place in the East. Butler seems to have found a home in Miami. The Heat should be the last team Butler plays for in his career.
