Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade made a classy gesture recently when he took to his Twitter account to dedicate the remainder of the season for one of the victims of the Parkland shooting incident last week. After finding out that Joaquin Oliver was buried with the former 12-time All-Star’s jersey, he admitted that he almost teared up with the news, leading to his decision to make him his inspiration this campaign.

Wade made sure he lived up to his promise as he wrote the young victim’s name on his signature shoe, which he wore on Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 35-year-old turned back the clock with his performance on the night, showing off his vintage form by scoring 15 of his team’s final 17 points. It included the game-winning jumper he knocked down where he showed that he can will his team to victory, which also allowed the Heat to complete their come-from-behind victory, 102-101, in front of a good-size crowd inside their home court.

With Wade playing inspired basketball once again, it could spell trouble for the rest of the competition, as well as benefit the Heat more if it leads to more wins strung together for them, and strengthen their bid for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. If his 27 points and three assists on Tuesday is any indication of what’s in store from him as the season progresses, he may turn more heads with his strong play and silence his doubters that he should already hang his sneakers for good.
