Dwyane Wade's final home game with the Miami Heat was filled with memorable moments. Most notable among them, at least from a cross-cultural perspective, was the retiring superstar falling into the laps of model Chrissy Teigen and musician John Legend, sitting courtside at American Airlines Arena, after attempting a jumper from the far corner. What better encapsulation could there possibly have been of Wade's rise from an under-recruited high-schooler who grew up in the South Side of Chicago to an NBA superstar with a global reach and ever broadening celebrity appeal?

Teigen and Legend, predictably, were good sports about Wade's tumble despite being left covered in beer. The model, who boasts one of the largest social media following in the world, took to twitter after the game to join the widespread discussion about the incident, calling it an “honor” to be fallen into by Wade and a still photo of the moment “a renaissance painting.”

Legend, meanwhile, immediately made sure the world know it wasn't him who spilled.

Actress Gabrielle Union, Wade's wife, was sitting to Legend's left when the Heat legend backed into the first row of seats, by the way.

This also wasn't the only fall the future Hall-of-Famer took on Tuesday night Following the game, a 122-99 Heat victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in which Wade scored 30 points, he tried to hop on the scorer's table, like he has so many times before over the years, to celebrate another triumph. One problem: Wade, with a microphone in hand, didn't quite get up high enough, falling chest-first into media row.

As Wade later said on twitter in response to his second tumble: “That was another reminder that it's time to retire haha”
