It can be very difficult to evaluate and compare ourselves to others. Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat is finding this out in a harsh way.

In a sitdown talk via heatnation.com, the sharpshooter for the Heat said he believes he's in the same company as other young stars like Luka Doncic and Trae Young. The response on social media has been what was expected despite the confidence Herro has in himself.

“I feel like I’m in the same conversation as those guys, the young guys coming up in the league who can be All-Stars, superstars one day,” Herro said. “Luka [Doncic], Trae [Young], Ja [Morant], those guys like that. I feel like my name should be in that category, too.”

Quite the bold comparison for Herro to make given how much he struggled last season. In his second year with the Heat, Herro started just 15 games and averaged 15.1 points per game on 36% shooting from downtown. Across the board, his numbers pale in comparison to those of Doncic, Young and Morant.

The hardest part of making this specific comparison is that Doncic, Young and Morant are all ball-dominant point guards who run the show for their offenses. Herro plays off the ball with the Heat and has averaged just 2.8 assists in his first two years in the league.

After an incredible rookie campaign where Herro really burst onto the scene for the Heat in the bubble, the now third-year guard will look to go back to rediscover those elements that made him so successful as a rookie.
