The Victor Oladipo era just began in South Beach as the Miami Heat finally got to see the long-awaited debut of the 28-year-old as he played his first game, as they hosted the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. Dipo though quickly deflected the praise after their 116-109 win.

“My teammates were really helpful tonight,” Oladipo said (via ESPN).

The two-time All-Star ended up starting for the Heat and filled up the stat sheet with six points, three rebounds, five assists, and a couple of steals. He did end up shooting 0-4 from deep but I'm sure we can cut him a little slack.

It's been a roller-coaster season for the former Most Improved Player as he's been shipped from city to city in the span of a couple of months. He made his first move from the Indiana Pacers to the Houston Rockets earlier in January as part of the blockbuster trade that brought James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets.

Oladipo's time in H-Town didn't last long though as he finally took a one-way trip to Florida and signed with the Heat in exchange for Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, and a future pick before the midseason trade deadline expired.

Now, the swingman has finally landed himself in a legitimate playoff-contending team and is looking to put in the work for head coach Erik Spoelstra. Oladipo will not only bring in some offense but a ton of experience as well for this gritty Heat squad. Slowly (but surely), this Miami is looking more and more ready to defend their 2020 Eastern Conference title.
